Colour, Consistency and Aroma: Thin, clear, pale yellow liquid. Middle note with a medium aroma, it has a slightly medicinal scent with characteristic woody, camphoraceous notes.

Tea tree essential oil is one of the most widely used and researched of all the essential oils. It has cleansing properties with a refreshing scent. Use it in the home to make household cleaners, air fresheners and linen spritzes. Mix a few drops with your laundry powder to give your laundry a boost, put a few drops on a cleaning cloth and use to wipe over bathroom surfaces and remove soap scum.

Tea tree oil may also be added to skin care preparations such as facial cleansers, exfoliating scrubs and moisturisers, Tea tree oil may be used topically on the skin when diluted in carrier oil. However, avoid using if you have eczema or if you notice any skin irritation. Tea tree oil should never be taken orally.
