Colour, Consistency and Aroma: Brown to reddish brown of medium consistency. Base note with a strong aroma. It has an earthy, woody scent characteristic of oils derived from roots. Popular in products designed for men.

Blends with: Cedarwood, Frankincense, Ginger, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Lemongrass, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Ylang-Ylang.

Vetiver essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the roots of vetiver grass. It has a characteristic earthy, musky but pleasant smell. Vetiver oil is quite thick and so in cooler climates it may not drip freely through the dripolator in the neck of the bottle. It this happens, remove the dripolator and use a dropper to get the oil out of the bottle.

Vetiver essential oil has been used by many cultures for thousands of years. Today it is used extensively in the perfume industry and is found in personal perfumes as well as cosmetics, soaps and oils. It's aromatic effect on the mind is grounding and calming. It is warming and sedative to the nervous system and stimulating to the circulatory system. Vetiver oil is highly regarded for it's uplifting, soothing and calming properties.
