Colour, Consistency and Aroma: Thin pinkish liquid. Middle note with a strong aroma.

Blends with: Lavender, Peppermint, Vanilla, Ylang-Ylang.

Wintergreen oil is distilled from the leaves of the wintergreen plant. It has dark green, mint scented leaves and red berries. The oil is high in methyl salycilate which is readily absorbed through the skin and produces a warming and soothing sensation. It is a very useful and popular addition to massage oils and creams as it works to warm and relax the muscles. It should never be applied directly to the skin but always diluted in a carrier oil.

Wintergreen oil has a very pungent though pleasant aroma and for this reason it should be used sparingly when in diffusers and of course should never be taken internally.

Wintergreen Diffuser Blends:

Refreshing Blend: 2 drops wintergreen oil, 2 drops lime, 2 drops orange, 2 drops lemongrass

Alpine Blend: 2 drops wintergreen oil, 1 drop cedarwood, 2 drops bergamot, 1 drop spearmint.

Massage Oil Recipe

Warming Massage oil: 100ml carrier oil, 25 drops wintergreen oil, 15 drops ginger oil, 10 drops peppermint oil

Always spot test a small amount of the massage oil before using it widely on your body. If you experience any irritation discontinue it's use.
