Peppermint is a fresh, energising essential oil. It's clean refreshing fragrance means that it is widely used. Peppermint essential oil contains menthol which give it it's refreshing, cooling and warming properties. Peppermint oil is very penetrating and minty. It blends well with the oils mentioned above and is especially siynergistic with lavender oil.
Peppermint Oil Uses
Oil of peppermint is one of the most loved and used of all essential oils. Used in aromatherapy it stimulates mental clarity and reduces stress and fatigue. It can be used in diffuser blends to create a stimulating, focused atmosphere. Added to massage oils or skin lotions it cools the skin. However, it is very potent and should never be applied directly to the skin, only diluted in a carrier oil. Keep away from the eyes and out of the reach of children.
